John Olive grew up in New Jersey and played college basketball at Villanova University, where he graduated in 1977.
Olive was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the eighth round of the 1977 NBA draft. He played in the NBA for the San Diego Clippers from 1978 through 1980.
Olive was an assistant coach at Villanova (1985 NCAA Champions) under Rollie Massimino from 1985-1992. In 1992, he became head coach at Loyola Marymount, where he served for five seasons.
Olive has been head coach for the boys basketball team at Torrey Pines High School since 1996.

Born in San Jose, California, Coach Clark attended Archbishop Mitty High School and graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2009. He went on to get his Masters in Athletic Administration and Coaching from Concordia University.
He worked in the athletic department at UC San Diego before moving on to coaching. Served as varsity assistant and JV head coach at The Bishop's School in La Jolla for two years before coming to Torrey Pines High School.
Last year was first year at TPHS, serving as Freshmen Head Coach leading the team to a 21-2 record and a league championship, as well as being a Varsity Assistant Coach on a 26-5 league championship team.
